Seven Days! Seven Nights! Seven Wonders!

Seven Wonders of the World , works of art and architecture regarded by ancient Greek and Roman observers as the most extraordinary structures of antiquity. See the famous Seven Wonders of the World: Walk through the lush Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Statue of liberty. Great Pyramids of giza.Great Wall of China. Leaning Tower of Pisa.Taj Mahal. Eiffel Tower...

The Pyramids of Egypt, built at Giza during the 4th Dynasty (circa 2575-c. 2467 bc) are the oldest of the seven wonders and the only ones remaining intact today and located on the west bank of the Nile River on the outskirts of Cairo, the pyramids at Giza, Egypt, rank as some of the best-known monuments in the world. The ancient Egyptians constructed the pyramids to serve as royal tombs. Built without the use of cranes, pulleys, or lifting tackle, the massive structures stand as testaments to the engineering skills of their makers..The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, perhaps built by King Nebuchadnezzar II were a mountainlike series of planted terraces. This hand-colored engraving by 16th century Dutch artist Maarten van Heemskerck depicts the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Technically, the gardens did not hang, but grew on the roofs and terraces of the royal palace in Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar II, the Chaldean king, probably built the gardens in about 600 bc as a consolation to his Median wife who missed the natural surroundings of her homeland.
The gardens of the Taj Mahal, located in Agra, are an example of 17th-century Islamic architecture. The use of symmetry and pattern is evident in the relationship between sun and shade, plants and water, and light and dark. The effect is that of a Persian rug leading to the entrance of the famous mausoleum. Great Wall of China, Sections of the Great Wall of China, including this section near Beijing, have been restored in the 20th century. Built by the Ming dynasty in the 15th and 16th centuries, the Great Wall stretches about 2400 km (about 1500 mi) along China’s northern border.Statue of Liberty, national monument proclaimed in 1924. Located in New York City, the monument consists of two small islands, Liberty Island and Ellis Island, that lie in Upper New York Bay. The Statue of Liberty is located on Liberty Island. Ellis Island was once the location where most immigrants entered the United States.Started in 1173, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, in Pisa, Italy, is an example of Romanesque architecture. The leaning structure is actually the campanile (Italian for “belfry” or “belltower”) of the cathedral of Pisa. Eiffel Tower, was built for the World’s Fair in 1889 by French engineer Gustave Alexandre Eiffel, who designed it as a cross-braced, latticed girder with minimum wind resistance. Constructed from over 6300 metric tons (7000 tons) of highest quality wrought iron, it is a masterpiece ofwrought-iron technology.
